Eastern Vs Western Medicine

Medicine isn't always simple these days. We are confronted with pharmaceutical ads everyday. People are burdened with different physical ailments that are not always treated properly or diagnosed properly to begin with and the answer, in my personal view, is to take a balanced approach - a balance of eastern and western medicine.

If you have a car accident or if you need heart surgery, American (Western) Medicine, is second to none. In that light, eastern therapies or alternative medicine can be helpful to improve the quality of your life too. Neither approach should replace the other, but compliment each other and be applied when needed.

Your body can take care of itself with your help. You shouldn't over medicate or just treat symptoms. If you're challenged with insomnia, or can't sleep, for instance, Chinese herbs could help you face that situation without any sort of side effects. Maybe the source of your problem is psychological and counseling is your best course of action.

Life throws a lot of different situations at us and it is fitting that we're flexible with how we deal with our health. It should be about using what works.
